Body Confidence

July 23, 2017

“Body confidence doesn’t come from trying to achieve the perfect body. It comes from embracing the one you have already got”.

When independence is created from the media that caters to insecurities, the media that incites self-criticism and self-hatred, we create powerful and inspiring worlds of our own.

The negative self-talk exaggerates and distorts. Negative thoughts thrive on self-doubt and second guessing. Maybe you second guess your worth because of you dislike the way you look? Even if you are unable to challenge these thought the goal is to recognize they exist.

What is Body Image? Body image is the way you feel, how you see yourself and imagine how you look. Having a positive body image means that, most of the time, you see yourself accurately and you feel good about the way you look. It is common to struggle with body image, no matter who you are. Sometimes it is difficult to understand all of the feelings we have about our bodies and ourselves. You may have questions about body image and whether the things you think and feel are normal.

95% of the population is genetically unable to attain what is represented in the media. That means that there is only a 5% “elite”. So if 95% of us are living our lives criticizing, belittling and giving ourselves a hard time for how we look, isn’t it time to change that? Isn’t it time we accept, appreciate and love our differences? How we look does not determine our self-worth.
